The Mays Bennett Science Institute for an Endurable Future (MBSI) will be a research facility that provides bold solutions to current problems. Our work shall overcome the challenges facing humanity by recruiting top researchers in key disciplines to collaborate on solution-based investigation. By actively developing solutions, we can create a sustainable future instead of one where the next generation struggles to survive.

The goal of MBSI is to identify and understand the challenges facing mankind and to support research that helps to ensure its future is positive. MBSI will be an incubator for research ideas involving multiple disciplines that enhance knowledge and develop technology. This will occur in an environment where scholars, student interns, and post-doctoral fellows can collaborate to develop innovative solutions. These scholars will profoundly focus on the future with creativity and integrity to build an environment that fosters progress.

Physical and human networks operating mainly without regard for organizational or national boundaries — are a critical vehicle for this exchange and the development of new knowledge. The collaborative teams, both located at MBSI and dispersed around the globe, will be responsible for research breakthroughs.

This modern research Institute will be an organic and non-hierarchical environment. Research will be driven by ideas, not orders from senior leadership. Success relies on the free exchange of information between researchers and departments. A commitment to teamwork, excellence, and uncovering realistic solutions will be at the core of the work performed at MBSI.

Scholars will be the backbone of the Institute. MBSI intends to recruit the best talent available worldwide, providing them with an attractive offer of research and collaboration with little need for fundraising. Emphasis will be focused on the unique opportunity and this appointment provides for interdisciplinary work that can have an enormous impact on society.

Students at MBSI will be the pipeline for future scholars, scientists, and industry leaders. MBSI will seek curious minds and nurture them to navigate complex, multidisciplinary environments and solve the biggest problems of our civilization. Undergraduates will come for summer internships and graduates will come to MBSI for longer periods of a year or more. Post-doctoral candidates will work with Institute scholars to advance their research skills.

MBSI will contribute to the R&D and human resource needs of existing industries and the future knowledge-based industries that will arise. Presently the local economy is primarily agriculture. MBSI will align with this local agricultural economy through its research on sustainable food production.
Constructing MBSI facilities, staffing MBSI facilities, and ancillary work that develops in the surrounding community will all require staff. This job influx will occur immediately after funding is procured, as workers will be needed for all phases of development (from construction through full-facility operation). MBSI foresees the creation of at least 500 jobs for the construction of the facilities, and 200 or more jobs to help run the research facility.
MBSI will provide the framework for a remarkable facility embedded in a historical and culturally rich community. This research center will provide real science-based solutions to global challenges. Our forefathers built the world that we enjoy today. It is our responsibility to develop institutions that we can leave for the benefit of future generations. Our research-based approach will enable us in:

Partner with MBSI to drive sustainable solutions through collaborative research and innovation. Together, we can address the challenges of today and build a resilient future.
